If only you knew
The passion that rages within
The yearnings that raise their voice
Offering no escape
I want to run
I want to fly
I want to be free
If only you knew
The struggles within my heart
The beating as it raises its tempo
Urging me along
To move
To go
To be
If only you knew
What moves me
What causes my heart to skip its beat
What makes me feel alive
To live
To breathe
To love
If only you knew

This is extremely beautiful. A little sad, almost a yearning, but it is simply lovely.

Wow I wish I could put into words what this made me feel, but I can’t quite. Anyway, it’s lovely

Reblogged this on A reluctant sentimentalist and commented:
The following poem is inspired by the one above and, in a way, forms a conversation with it. Thanks to “passion through poetry” for sharing her work.
If you knew, would you feel what I do?
Would you accept my embrace
Let me look at your face
Want me to kiss it the way I want to?
No, you would not
Therefore I have sworn
To keep this passion confined to my heart
Thus poetry is born
