Out of my Control

It’s out of my hands

There’s nothing I can do

But let myself go and slip

Into the gale force howling

Past my door.

I’ll let it bash me where it

Will.

My eyes are closed.

My hands are open.

It’s out of my control.

  1. Wonderful I think b/c it’s something we all realize, or should, that much in life is out of our control despite lol we do to keep it. As your poem says it’s difficult to to be this way, but I like that the speaker accepts this fact anyways, she doesn’t have much of a choice. Great job with your poetry, and I know I haven’t been on here regularly in a while, but I love your change of theme.

      1. That’s good. I hope I do too soon. Have a lovely weekend. We are almost having crazy Aussie heat, but not quite. It’s 37 today and most of us aren’t used to near 40 degree heat. It doesn’t bother me so much as I visited Vegas in June and it was crazy hot there, mid 40’s to almost 50, but it’s odd weather for her. Cheers.
