You loved me
And I loved you
You were with me
During the night
Your face so clear
We spoke again
I stopped loving
And you married her
But last night
It was you and me
Again, alone
I stopped loving
But you never did
You loved me
And I loved you
You were with me
During the night
Your face so clear
We spoke again
I stopped loving
And you married her
But last night
It was you and me
Again, alone
I stopped loving
But you never did
Reminds me of a country song by George Jones – “He Stopped Loving Her Today”…

I love it. I guess she still loves him. She is so angry, she can’t see this otherwise why she is missing him, why she is sad. These few lines contain pain of two lives.

She walked away because she stopped loving him, but he still visits her in her dreams at night. So perhaps she never stopped loving him, but he married someone else so it was he who diverted his love elsewhere perhaps?

Complex, he should have waited. Perhaps, he lost hope and took his decision rashly. The poem resonated with me so much.
