The last time I saw my mother
I waved her goodbye, kissed her farewell
Entering the airport, she went on her way
Flying out the land, and out my life
The last time I saw my mother-in-law
Was at an airport, kissing her farewell
Stepping on a plane, she went on her way
Returning back home, and leaving my life
My mother, and my mother-in-law
Two blessed women who gave unselfishly
I never often said thank you
For all the love they showed to me
So these few words are dedicated to them
To give thanks, and to say thank you
For the nurturing, comfort and care –
You are in my heart, we are never apart
Beautiful tribute, bittersweet situation. Much love & light to you my friend xo

Thank you! Unfortunately they both passed away after that, so was the last time I saw them. My mother passed away on holiday, and my mother-in-law returned home, fell ill and passed away too.

Oh I am so sorry. That is indeed very sad. Makes your poem all the more poignant. May their souls rest in peace.
