Tears of Joy and Strife

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “An Extreme Tale.”

It was the best of times
It was the worst of times
Thinking of these lines
First thoughts in my mind –

I hate it, I love it
When web services do not work
It can bring me to my knees
Why oh why oh please!

Troubleshoot and analyze
Sleep a luxury, no time to eat
Life comes to a halt
Because I have code that doesn’t run!

Managers, deadlines, clients
Breathing down my neck
We have a plan, don’t you know
Yeah I know, and I have code that doesn’t run!

What to do, what to do?
Calm down, breathe, make some tea
I have no time to sleep
Until finally

Sweet finally
After days and nights
Tears and strife
A few changes here and there

And we have success!
Oh sweet code, alive
I have a result!
Tears of joy, fall to my knees

Highs and lows
Moods and swings
Roller coaster work
Roller coaster life

Happy December!

Glitter and gold
Reflect the season once more
Of joy and delight
Goodwill to man

Happy Holidays!

Slivers of Blue

Converging beams break
The sails held together
Revealing sky blue

Keeping BFF Happy

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Someone Else’s Island.”

My BFF (best friend forever)
Got stranded on an island
I was allowed to send to her
Any old items of five

I know my friend very well
So to keep her happy
I chose for her
Her new puppy Lola

Her two cats I forget their names
Pet bunny Tiger Lily
Rescued Bird PollyAnna
And to keep my best friend company

I sent her me!

The person who wrote this
Is close to my soul
I identify
With every twirl
Every nuance
Of every phrase
In every word string
We prevail
I praise
The Life lustre
That surges
In this verse

Blessings on you
And your road
May we meet
At the Southern Cross
And the nectar of bees
Bless our crop
Of creativity
For the world needs blessing
The world needs healed
The world needs
People
Who are real!

Writing a Better Me

Southern Hemisphere Lovin’ Gal
Springtime celebrated every year
This September brought a fresh Summertime Dose
Of turmoil, agony and despair

Not knowing what to do, and where to go
How to get rid of this darkness within
I looked to the sun, and saw brightness and light
I looked within, and felt courage and life

So many words flowing forth from my heart
I started to write, I started to type
And every day ever since
I have written, I have typed

Words arising, healing, flowing
Understanding a little more of my soul within
Therapeuting, growing, empathising
Passionating my way to be a better me –

In the depths of despair I held out my arms
And was gently lifted from the dark well surrounds
To a higher, brighter, sun-drenched place
Of life, and light, and safety

Last Words

I am at peace with the world
I am at peace with me
I am at peace

Thank you for my beating heart
Thank you for my life
Thank you

If this my last night shall be
Let me live it
Joyfully

Spare one last night to breathe in
All the pure goodness
Surrounding me

I have lived, I have loved
I have fought
I am

Grant one last wish of mine I plead
That my written words should be
My testimony

And if I should not make it through the night
Know that I am at peace, I am at rest
There are no words left in me

Tragedy and turmoil, please
Spare a thought for Sean

Condolences to the family of Philip Hughes
And all those involved in this very sad tragedy
