I’ll shine a light until I’m home
I’ll shine a light for you
And if you reach the door
Before I do
Please wait for me don’t go
I’ll hurry home I’ll run and fly
I’ll come straight back to you
For you are mine and I am yours
Forevermore so true.
Beautiful swing to the poem. I loved it for the most part, but I confess that my life has led me to believe we place too much emphasis on the duration of our loves, and not nearly enough on their quality. So I recoiled at the word, “forever” — but that’s just me.
Thanks for your post.

I love your point of you, thank you! Yes, forever does sound and seem slightly ambitious I agree 😊 however the word seemed to fit into the rhythm of the poem so unless I can think of some other better word, it will have to stay for now.

The freshness of youth, makes the inspiration is expressed in verses of much feeling. Your poem is very nice.
