Why can I not let go?

Question of the ages.

Because the smile is so flashy white.

Because the light shining, when it shines, is so dazzling bright that everything else pales in comparison.

So I hold out for those moments. Those brief periods of payoff when everything else is forgotten.

And then the tears. With the brutal dismissal. And would there be care or empathy or kindness? No. The light is off, and it may or may not be switched on again. Whenever. It is not about me.

And so the world revolves around the narc. Planet Narc. You either like it or you don’t.

  2. Thoughtful mmuch Vonita! You reminded me about is often referred to as Protagonist Disease, the human condition of believing that self is the centre of the universe. Very aptly put hey. Please, keep writing!

  3. You can let go. You just aren’t, yet. There is a fine line between love and hate… your best weapon against a narcissist is indifference and apathy. It takes about 4 weeks to develop a new habit. You can do it.. you will do it.. when you’re ready to. It will just take work and I encourage you to use your supports and to change the idea of “you can’t” to “you will” 🙂 it’s hard and takes work but it’s doable.
