Last week we went away for a few days. I was sitting on a bench along the beachfront, and while I was sitting there, a group of people passed by. They kept looking back at me, until eventually one lady broke away and came back to me. She recognized me from South Africa. She is a minister in our church (same church in South Africa that I attend in Sydney). I knew that she would be in Australia but hadn’t made any plans to catch up. She happened to be in that area for one night, and then would be in Sydney for a few days. It was one of those coincidences that sometimes feels more than a coincidence. I invited her to our home, and she was able to make the time last night to see us. It was wonderful! An unexpected and uplifting visit that felt as if God had organized it himself. Sometimes when special things like that happen, it makes me feel as though I am not forgotten, but that there is a living God we serve, one who knows our need. Xx

  1. So, happy you had a lovely visit and you found your visitor spiritually uplifting. Those are my favourite visits because you always come out feeling stronger and revived.

    1. Thank you mandibelle, it was so unexpected and the visit has encouraged me a lot. We had never been introduced in South Africa, I knew her name and had seen her, but we had never spoken. And here, over eight years later we have been able to meet and connect! Amazing 😊

    1. Thank you, Andy! It was really special, and unexpected as well. We had never been introduced in South Africa, so out of nowhere we had our own random introduction in Australia! πŸ™‚

      1. It is fantastic when things like that happen, it shows what a small world we live in sometimes πŸ™‚
I wish that all those people who hate others because of their religion, colour or for any other reason would also see what a small world we live in, all humans are part of the same family.

  2. I love God appointments like these – love them! And like you – it reminds me that God is so active and involved in our lives – he knows the number of hairs on our head and no detail is too large or small – and it rocks out world when things like this happen – my mom o few as traveling through an old State where she went to school – she was getting tires on her car when a dear friend walked in – old classmate and they connected again- anyhow – thanks for sharing this – and good day!
