Bittersweet? Ambivalent? There is a Japanese word my Aunt uses all the time for this but there is no translation. I’ll have to ask her for the phonic spelling.
Exactly- that mixture of joy and sorrow- longing and regret- associated with transitions- end of vacation/holiday- graduations- departing for university. That’s the word I’m looking for!

Yeah as in bittersweet memories. But I don’t think it would be OK to say that something makes me bittersweet. Maybe we should invent a word for that!
