If You Are A Quote Lover – Day 2

I’ve been nominated by my dear friend Mark to participate in the Quote Lovers challenge so have decided to give it a go. Mark has an amazing, upbeat spirit and can be found here:

If You Are a Quote Lover, Day Two

Here are the rules:

Post your three favorite quotes, one each for three consecutive days.

With each post nominate three bloggers for the challenge.

Recognize the blogger who nominated you.

I’m taking this one home (to Australia!)

Here goes!

Adelaide Street Art

Australian National Anthem Verse 1

Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We’ve golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature’s gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history’s page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.

Here are my three (no obligation) nominations:

Thank you, Mark!

      1. You know the funny thing, that here in Spain we don´t have words to our hymn, we really don´t not kidding. Long story as to why, all political ofcourse. So when I see other countries that actually have words to their national anthem I think it bonds people together in a patriotic way and feel happy of living where you are living. Which is the problem here in Spain, a lot of provinces want separation so that´s in why we don´t have words. So it´s nice to hear from a person that´s all the way in Australia that she is privileged, that is how we should feel here in Spain but unfortunately is not the same.
        Have a great weekend. Read ya

      2. Thank you for sharing. I didn’t know that about Spain! The South African national anthem is a combination of different languages and quite difficult to sing. So good to be able to sing one in my mother tongue! 🙂

    1. Thank you for accepting the challenge! I feel the same way about nominations, that’s why I don’t do many challenges or awards, but allow myself to break my own rules sometimes! As mentioned, it was an obligation-free challenge, can’t wait to read your tanka! 🙂
