I hold out my hand
And offer you light
I hold out my heart
And offer you love

she stands with her back to the camp fire
under a black velvet sky strewn with chips of diamond
the trees surrounding the camp seem to undulate
a quick flicker chance dance
reflecting the flames
at first
only twin points of light
the eyes of the wolf
she holds out her empty hand
her offering
he approaches
wary. . .

a fine poetry dance
wolves, dragons
angels and demons
all dancing in poetry
