I
Say a word
But all I get is a
Wall
I knock
But there is no
Answer
Your silence is deafening my
Heart
While the pain in my chest
Deafens my soul and mind
The stone and bricks have been
Laid
One upon another
Until
There is no way to enter in
Speak to me!
I plead
My tears flow forth
But there is only an impenetrable
Hardness
The wall surrounding you
Is too strong
I cannot enter
In

Very nice poem! Expresses very well the emotions of trying to be in someone’s life.

Your poem exactly enacted what one partner in marriage feels when the other one builts a wall, and doesn’t lets one in.

This resonated with me as I live with someone who’s passive aggressive. It brought my own version of the topic to mind. If you’re interested check out my Feb. 15th work: Which is More Powerful the Spoken or Unspoken Word? Thanks for a great poem.

Must be really frustrating that feeling of being shut out and blown off by another when all you just wanna do is wrap your arms around ’em, share with ’em whatever it is they’re going through and probably just, make their pain fizzle away; while offering ’em some kinda solace! I love this Vonita, those words are so heartfelt and soul-stirring! Kudos girl, you brought this! LOL
