Politician

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “New Skin.”

If I could choose
To be anyone, anywhere
I would choose
To be a politician
With charisma, charm and grace
Diplomacy, tact and fortitude
So I could round up the leaders
To lead and direct
The global change required
To heal the planet we live on
So there will still be
A world we can rejoice in

*the more I read
the more I see
the more my heart bleeds
for this planet we live on
soon there will be no return*

  1. I have just taken a Human Ecology class and a Global Politics class. In both, we studied the problems man causes – to the earth, the atmosphere, the ocean, and to one another. There are two points of view. We are heading toward self-destruction fast; and, we will find scientific solutions as we need them to solve problems related to climate, food, etc. If you become a politician, you would be one in a million! Happy 2015!

      1. Almost none of the EDCs are doing as much as they can. And the LDCs want an opportunity to improve without environmental restrictions. As for global peace, I have little hope it will ever be realized. However, I wouldn’t worry too much.

As individuals, we can speak with our votes and our wallets; and do our best to be kind to others and our planet. I’ve been hearing about global warming and food shortages since the 1970s. Overpopulation was also big, but it is no longer the issue it once was. The Cold War had everyone in fear of global annihilation. There is nothing new under the sun. I remain optimistic as long as there are people like you who care so much.
