In seasons past
I have dreamed
Of fruit trees
And worm farms
Composting bins
Vegetables fresh
Hand grown by me
Strawberries
Passion fruit
Blueberries too
Overflowing gardens
Feeding the family
I invested
In pots and saplings
Seeds and gardening things
And at seasons end
The bugs and birds
Had a feast and
All I had to show
For my time
My effort
My money
Was a handful of tomatoes
A few green beans
And a lemon tree

My husband’s aunt has the most amazing green fingers, has fed her family with home grown vegetables for many years, I stand in awe π

This makes for such a delightful read though it oughta make me wanna empathize with your plight, after so much toiling and hardwork that’s gone forth! And I do feel your angst, but look on the bright side Vee, you were saved a handful of crops! Half a loaf of bread’s better than none, know?! *laughing*
You never know, your luck might be in by the next planting season, so keep ’em loving fingers dug in, and then crossed afterwards as you await harvest time! Cheers! LOL

I grew ONE really nice tomato last year. Got a good photo of it as proof. Perhaps we could start a lonely vegetable/fruit club? PS your lemon looks more like a lime. What did it taste like?

Thank you, yes a lonely vegetable club is a great idea! My lone lemon is still on the tree waiting to turn yellow π
