    1. Thanks for enjoying my words! Last night I couldn’t stop at one entry, I had to create both a long and short one, from one extreme to the other! I never realized Holding Thumbs was a South African expression until I said to an Australian after I arrived – “are you holding thumbs for the job interview” it is the equivalent of having fingers crossed (if that is a known expression too), and saw her reaction, what do you mean “holding thumbs”? South Africans use it all the time to mean good luck!
