What is it about her
That made him choose?
Is it the way she walks
Or talks or shades her hair
Is it the way she smiles
Or laughs or has no care
Is it her confidence
Her energy
Her life or spirit
Is it her eyes so brown
Exuberant, alive
What is it about her
I wish I knew!
What is it about me
That made me lose?
I cup the fragile vessel
Of my beating heart
Between soft hands
And feel the gentle
Rhythmic pulse
We were lovers
We were friends
We laughed and
Also, we cried
When I mourned
Your arms comforted
Your gentle hands drying
The tears of my eyes
And then we said goodbye
With a final kiss I walked away
And when I see you now
We are nothing more than
Strangers passing by
I navigated the maze
Of my emotions
To be led
By love
To you
Words are fading
With every pill I take
Calmness overtakes
The constant dull angst
And carries my poetry
Away
A temporary joy
Will never feed
A lost and thirsty soul.
For as the pleasure
Fades and dies
A bleeding heart
Will always cry.
A lasting peace
Is found inside
Safe within
A quiet heart.
Feel the love
Tap into peace
And feed your soul
Forevermore!
A thorn
In my flesh
Pierces
So I can
Understand fully
Without ambiguity
That there is indeed a thorn in my flesh
Needing quite
Urgently
To be
Removed.
Coffee, oh coffee
Where art thou?
Because grey skies loom
And I need you now!
