White lights
Burning bright
Lighting the darkness
Denying the night

Bridge
Dividing east from west
City from town
Connecting that which
At the same time
It separates
You’ve Got A Friend
There are times when
There are so many words that I type
Too much for even me, should I discard
Or should I publish for the world to read
And then I decide
If it could touch another
Then all that would be felt within
Would not all be in vain, but fill a need
Thank you around the world
For all the kindness received
For encouraging words and support
It helps my heart to stop its bleed
Climate Change
Sometimes there is no choice
But to feel the pain and to
Acknowledge the pain because
We know it is there, do not be
Scared, do not be afraid, do not fear,
For the feelings will clear
The sky will change, the clouds will form a
Kaleidoscope above our eyes and at the end all will
Pass and all will be
Well

Dreams and Visions
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “All or Nothing?.”
Wanting everything could be our peril
Chasing all our hearts desire
Could leave us with losing all
Wanting nothing is just as bad
No desire to chase our dreams
Could leave us with dreaming none
So perhaps what we could do
Is dream our dreams, then build a vision
And takes the steps to make it happen
Be inspired
Melody Of Love
I close my eyes as I start to type
Allow the feelings that would surround
Feel the words escape my soul
Like water flows from an open tap
Words start to trickle from my mind
Slow at first, what story do I have?
Until I tap into that place
Where words would be, and thoughts and heart
The essence of my very soul
I hear the rhythm, feel the rhyme
It is a song surrounding one
I want the music to carry on
Sound surround and deafen airs
For I am safe when I reach that source
Of peace and love and harmony
Around, outside, only fear and strife
Pain and sorrow, fear and loss
But in that secret place
When I do connect, sweet melody
There is love, the only love
There could be for me
African Sky Blue
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Feeling Fancy.”
If you could take me anywhere
Take me to Africa
Allow me to breathe in the air
Of the vast plains of land
Take me to the bush
Where lions freely roam
Let me be at one
With the air, the land, the life
Allow my blood to merge
With the energy that surrounds
Allow me to be at one
With the continent of my birth
Allow me to be free
Bless my life
My Time
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Feeling Fancy.”
There is no money in the world
That could buy me a day with you
My day of extravagance
Is a day spent with me
Being alone and being free
If you see me walking past
Walk on by
Walk On By
A friendship forced
Is no friendship at all
At times when I extend my hand
And my hand is left to touch the air
At times like these it would be wise
To withdraw my hand and bring it back
To my side, because a friendship can
Neither be forced or coerced
It makes me feel a yearning
But then sad I must be
Walk on by
