The lights were off
There was no one home
I called your name
I called for you
But my voice
Echoed back to me
You were not here
You were nowhere
And your absence
Lingers still
The lights were off
There was no one home
I called your name
I called for you
But my voice
Echoed back to me
You were not here
You were nowhere
And your absence
Lingers still
The longing and ache as portrayed here is palpable. It gets pretty gruesome when one realizes that such a person isn’t coming back, especially if he/she walked away as opposed to dying. That can tend to make one feel inadequate and unworthy.
Nicely penned Vonita, well done. 😇😄
