Temptations rage strong
Threatening to overcome
No! I will not
Leave me be
And one by one
With each No that is said
With each No that is meant
The strong gets stronger
The weak gets weaker
And I am rising
Rising where I want to be
Becoming who I am meant to be
I am standing
Standing in my integrity
Holding the power
The power of No

Beautifully written! 🙂

It is difficult to learn saying NO. But once learned even a Yes has more power.

Your sweet poem brings to mind the essence of sympathy verses empathy. In sympathy one crawls into the mud with another so that the two are covered and experiencing the mud. In empathy we would hold to the Truth of a situation, allowing a warm and inviting hand to extend to the other, lifting the one out of the mud. Nice Vonita!

I love this analogy, and the hand being held to lift the other up, thank you so much for sharing this!! ❤
