In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Doubters Alert.”
Social media is social.
It’s not. It helps me keep connected to my family and friends far away, but it’s definitely not social.
To be social is to be with someone or others in person and to be able to look into their eyes, be in their presence and connect with them.

Yes, never to mixe that up!

Are you “really” connecting on social media? Not unless there is a conversation that takes place. Just passing through and browsing is not being social

Agreed, I meant to say it helps me stay connected to friends and family as in I am able to have them in contact, like a central repository of contacts if that makes sense, but it is not social, that is the point I was trying to make! I was answering the Daily prompt (I think I added the link on the site!) 🙂

You are absolutely correct. Being social is being personally there talking and “socializing” with a human touch. I definitely agree with you…!
