Intensity

Heat like a burning iron
Seared through my heart
Scorching the soft flesh –
The intensity of which
Left me begging for mercy
My unwiped tears left to
Dry themselves away

It has been suggested that I am “too intense”
I have no idea how to be less intense
And whether I should even try
But I guess being less intense could be more fun
How does one go about being less intense?

  1. We do not live to live up to the expectations that others have of us, we live to be true to ourselves, to express the truth of who and what we are. These opinions of others are judgements…reminds me of Jesus’ words…take the beam out of your own eye before you take the splinter out of an others eye. The secret is to be grounded enough not to react to how others see you. We are all on our own individual journeys and we are all progressing along it at different speeds, in different ways but ultimately all going the same way. You have depth and sensitivity where perhaps those that judge you are aware you have it, but cannot grasp it…? Wonderful! Rejoice in your intensity, it is a gift!

  2. You are most welcome, today is a new day…a gift, embrace it and live to be You…with all the labels of seemingly good or bad…they are but labels, abstract concepts…what we consider to be ‘good’ in ourselves, others see as ‘bad’…this world is a world of duality, but it need not be so if we can just step beyond that mindset! Hope the day goes smoothly for you and take care. Time, and that is but another man made concept…is out there freely available, costs nothing…if you but have the time, and sadly, it seems to me that folk are often too busy to take the time to really connect with someone, be it through talking or writing, like this. It is a precious commodity, and I gladly share my time with you…Life is indeed a journey that is never dull…take good care.

    1. Thank you, I tried to make a concerted effort to be friendly and smile at people. Other feedback that came across my way is that I am so reserved (especially when feeling uncomfortable) it is easily misconstrued as being impolite. Which is not my intention at all. Easy enough to change and be more friendly. Really enjoying your thoughts thank you, will re-read them!
