Be your own hero
In all you say and do
Have courage
And to yourself be true
Wait for no one
Or three or two
But stand in strength
And believe in you!

we do our best
we try to aim
to reach the skies
to play the game
to live a life
of love and stars
of peace and joy
and no more wars
but we are tied
to earth and soil
we breathe the air
of nature’s toil
it may not be
we might not reach
the dreams we dreamed
the tales we teach
our flesh weighs down
it cannot be
that we are freed
into liberty
so take a moment
and say a prayer
blow it softly
into the air
all will pass
and this we know
struggles will end –
a final bow.
He didn’t seduce me with sweet, kind, fake words. He seduced me with honesty and kindness and care. A compassion that was a balm to my wound. I felt safe with him. And I felt respected.
A spark has been lit
The candle that lay hidden in the dark
I feel it flicker
I feel it burn
I feel the light
And I know that from here
The flame will lead the way
I hoped and prayed and wished and tried to force the change I so desperately needed
It was all to no avail
My feeble attempts bore no fruit
In the end all I needed to do was wait
Wait for him to cross my path
Wait for him to magically appear
He has crossed my path
He has magically appeared
And I cannot wait
To see him again
At the water’s edge we sat
After the sun had dropped
Far beneath its surface
He pulled me close
I felt his lips
Just him and I
Blessed by a watchful
Sydney moon
It’s amazing how the universe knows just what we need
That in some unexpected surprising manner, twists and turns will pass our way
Spin us till from dizziness we drop
And after we are back on our feet
A new path opens that was never there before
