Hardened Wall

textured stone wall, Spanish city of Valencia, Mediterranean arc

I
Say a word
But all I get is a
Wall
I knock
But there is no
Answer
Your silence is deafening my
Heart
While the pain in my chest
Deafens my soul and mind
The stone and bricks have been
Laid
One upon another
Until
There is no way to enter in
Speak to me!
I plead
My tears flow forth
But there is only an impenetrable
Hardness
The wall surrounding you
Is too strong
I cannot enter
In

Love in Ten Sentences

Thank you to the following kind writers who have nominated me to join in the Love in Ten Sentences challenge.

A Walk on the Bright Side
Poetic Parfait

The challenge is to write a ten line poem each containing four words and the letter “love”. Well, sometimes I love a challenge – will I be able to write one that will actually make sense? Here goes!

Aching

I ache for love,
The only love that
Your love can provide.
True love lifts me;
In love’s warmth my
Heart melts love—so
Much love that when
Love has died, in
Time your love will
Be my only love.

Does this poem even make any sense?

My Own Favorite Love Quote
My heart melts love when I think of you
V. Buirski 2015 (I just made it up!)

My Favorite Love Quote
Intense love does not measure, it just gives
Mother Teresa

I need to nominate ten people. I do not like excluding or being selective, so have nominated a few bloggers (not all are poets) that often interact on my site (in no particular order):

Worlds Apart

image

Remembering the touch of your hands
As they caress the softness of my skin
You are not here, do you remember
The times we have shared, those moments alone
When the world faded away, and it was only you and me
Where are you now? How I long for the touch of your hands—
I crave you

Cape Town

Cape Town And Table Mountain In The Evening

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Study Abroad.”

I would live in Cape Town
That beautiful city by the sea—
The home of my mother’s birth
I would live near family
And all those dear to me

Lost

FullSizeRender-6

Lost in the world
Not knowing where to turn
Or how to find our way back home
Time passed and with it our hope
But holding on together
We navigated our way
From being lost
To finding our
Way home
Again

No means No

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Set It To Rights.”

Under pressure as only a parent can be
I said Yes after I had already said No
I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t pray, I couldn’t sleep
Until I went back and said my No means No
And when I say No, that’s what No means
I’m sorry I said Yes when I meant No
But please know that from now on
No means No

Raindrops

I draw open the curtains
While the rain falls its drops
Filling the hollow of my soul
With water so fresh and so pure
That I never want the clouds above
To stop their sorrow at all

If I was guaranteed not to fail
I would become a professional poet
And write poetry for all my photography

Daily Prompt Alternative – Picture Prompt #1

i-see-you

Remember Me

I see you from the corner of my eye
Watching your every move
I stay out of view and allow you
To continue with your day’s work
One day we might be together
But until then I will hold my peace
And wait for you to come for me
Remember me in time and I will
Remember you

Full Moon

Full Moon shining bright
Like a sun of the dark night
Sparkling stars kneel down –
Gems in a diamond-encrusted
Crown of heaven’s sky light
