Snowmen
I scratched my fingers
Against the door
I scratched until they
Were red and raw
The door stayed closed
The lock unturned
The blinds kept down
My love returned
I had to go
I could not stay
I had to leave
Just turn away
I left then
And I let go
Of frozen men
In melting snow
