Layers upon layer
Fell to the floor
Revealing flesh
Behind closed door
The music played
Drowning our cries
The passion between us
Never disguised

My inner passions
Yell their desires at me –

Tapestry of Life

A colleague of mine turned thirty today. I spent a few minutes thinking back on my thirties. Just because I’ve been there and I can. I thought of how I can sum up those ten years of my life? Well, I spent much energy on unhelpful thoughts. But. I traveled to Hungary, Zimbabwe, the UK, Australia. My daughter was born. We moved countries. I saw both my children start at school. I volunteered with reading groups. And eventually, at the age of 39.5, I harnessed all my unhelpful thoughts, and began to yarn them into poetry. My tapestry of life. Passion through poetry.
Be My Valentine!

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Romance is passionate
And so are you!
Roses are red
Violets are sleek
If I offer you my face
Will you kiss my cheek?
Roses are red
Violets are fine
If I admire you from afar
Will you one day be mine?
Have a day filled with love!

Erupting Emotions
I kept my heart as closed as the unopened books standing on the bookshelf waiting to be read. And all was quiet and safe, I lived my life, living day to day, viewing the world in black and white. Until the time came that my heart was pried open and all the passion overflowed like a volcano erupting, destroying any semblance of normality. Overwhelming emotion proving the capacity to love with a force unrecognizable to everything that was ever known before.
