We’ve just welcomed 2017, and I am hopeful for the grace of God.
More love for thee, more love.
Happy New Year to you and yours.
Wishing you health, wealth and happiness xo
Racing
Racing
Racing
I cannot keep up
With the thoughts
Inside my head
I run for cover
I hide away
I turn my face
I search for calm
But still
Those thoughts
Race behind me
Never leave me
Never stray

I sent a poem to a friend
Who is not
As I do
And then I felt
Foolish
So I took it back
But I couldn’t really take it back
Because it had already been sent
And read
So now I feel
Even more foolish
Folly: lack of good sense or normal prudence and foresight
We sang this at my mother’s memorial service. The word “abide” always brings me back to this hymn.
“Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
Earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
I need Thy presence every passing hour.
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.”
Christian Hymn
I wrote this in April 2015. Not quite sure what I meant by a silent echo. But that’s what I wrote at the time. Maybe it alludes to being unheard? I’ll go with that 😊

Our hearts are filled with with stories people tell
Our vision infused with their lives and their love
And one day we find they have been taken from us
Leaving only memories as a faded note
That they lived and we loved them
For a short while they were alive as we are now –
Our own stories will touch younger hearts
As our hearts were touched when we were young
Two of everything I would save
Birds and bees and snakes in trees
Bugs and lizards and chimpanzees
Bunnies and cats and kangaroos
Dogs and bats and fish in seas
Flowers and leaves and greenery
As proof of everything that we see
When facing adversity, we have a choice. We can either shrink. Make ourselves smaller. And more miserable. And a monster to be around.
OR
We can roll up our sleeves and get to work. Do what needs to be done. Look above the situation. Not directly into and below it. Lift those eyes. And rise. Do it. For yourself.

First steps for change
Sweep the old away
Prepare yourself for new
First steps for change
One new dawn, a new day –
Will skies be red, or rather blue?
I was only joking – Rod Stewart
Now you ask me if I’m sincere
That’s the question that I always fear
Verse seven is never clear
But I’ll tell you what you want to hear
I try to give you all you want
But giving love is not my strongest point
If that’s the case, it’s pointless going on
I’d rather be alone
