I steeped a cup of tea
I steeped it very light
And when I had a taste
It tasted, oh so, right!
Tag coffee
Coffee-Maker Reqd
I made a mug of coffee
I made it very strong
But when I took a sip
It tasted, oh so, wrong
Wake Up!
Reward
Morning Routine
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Two Right Feet.”
Drink tea
In my favorite mug
Direct from Zimbabwe
Check I’m still alive
Give thanks in my heart
Write daily prompt
Drink coffee
Arise!
Is this even a poem?
(Yes, I do have tea
And then I have coffee
Trust me, you do not want me
Missing either one
In order to save time
As well as my left foot
And because he knows me so well
I have at times been offered
Tea and coffee together
Queued up ready to go
A little bit eccentric, no?
You have been warned!)
Cappuccino Confession
I was so busy
Waxing lyrical in my previous post
That I totally forgot
About my guiltiest guilty pleasure
Now that I’m reading other confessions
And hearing about frappucinos and caffeinated drinks
I am stirred to admit
A guilt trip I ride at least once per day
And so to prove the point
This evening at a Pilates Dinner
I was served a really good cup
Of my guilty pleasure – Cappucino!
No sugar, skim milk please!

Look to the Future
Relax, my child
I know you are having breakdowns
Nerve issues, and anxiety too
But all will be well
Son and daughter will be blessed
Countries will be exchanged
Smart phones will be invented
You will find out soon
What they might be
You will learn to write
Practice some Pilates
Get that body into shape!
New friends will arrive
New people, new lives
New stories to be shared
There will be sad times
There will be happy times
There will be farewells
Sorrow and joy interweaving
Working together for good
Harmonising
You will never be without
Every day you are alive
There will be blessing surrounds
And to help you out
There will be coffee
And to spare
And at night, there will be tea
In mugs reminding you of home
Lovingly painted in Africa by hand
(Zimbabwe actually to be exact
Long story, don’t ask)
Wake up, coffee time!
Mirror Image
I know we have work to do
I know it must be done
Spreadsheets, planning, figures, facts
Project plans, and timelines too
I’ll pop over then we can start
Get your laptop ready, coffee set to brew
You live nearby and office too far
I’ll pop over in just a second or two!
Wow, what’s happening here?
Is this your home or mine?
We have the same taste in books I see
Comprehension beyond belief!
Do you finish your books ever?
The same books as mine?
Can you share the stories with me?
I love the covers, but have no idea –
What is underneath
What lies beneath the surface
Wait a minute!
Decorated walls – just like mine
Colour of paint – just like mine
Even this furniture!
Just like mine
I am feeling overwhelmed, one grand mystery
This is too much for me
Maybe we have the same taste in java beans
Because I really now need that mug of coffee!
Milk, no sugar please!
But I’m guessing you know that.
