Mother of two
And wife of one
Loved while she lived
And we loved her
There is no hope in this world so dark
Guard the treasure in our hearts
For we pass through and then are gone
Create our testimony with the words we speak
And live for a country unseen
I have no hope in what I see
My hope is for eternity

When you take another life?
What do you dream about

Do you read bedtime stories to your children
After you have raped
When you have shot and killed-
Do you go home and make love to your wife?

Locked in trunk
And set alight
Farmers butchered
Tortured, raped
Executions, heads cut off
And then I wonder
In this world so dark
Where is the light?

I said goodbye to a friend of mine
So I could walk into my future alone and free
And I knew the goodbye would be forever
That never would I hear the voice of that soul
Again, but in my dreams a voice sounds out
To me, and when I awake, the voice so clear
Is of an old friend of mine, a friend I chose to

Farewells are always hard
Ripping my heart and leaving me
In a state of vulnerability, wanting
To cling and never let go, but time
Passes, and there is nothing that
Can be done, but to wave goodbye
As the heartache is felt
The love I feel for you
Overtakes your every plea
I long to be right by your side

You are the brightness in the sun
You are my love, my company
