Of long routine days
The stress and tearful strife
Of endless night
Spark into dazzling
Colors so bright
Friendship was set
Unencumbered by time
That sweet moment we met
So precious a friend
True and rare
Until our journey’s end
Physical pleasure
Is a passing phase.
The lure of the seek,
Thrill and the chase
Races the heart
And reddens the cheek.
But once the moment
Has peaked and subsided
The passion so strong
Becomes very weak.
I wanted you near,
I had you within
And now my desire
Has grown very thin.
I have nothing to say
And neither do you
We smile at each other
And then turn away.
Our conversation
Plays out in my mind
All the things I could have said
All the things I should have said.
There is no rewind button
To create a different ending
It is what it is
And evermore shall be.

Fragile memories of
Sorrow mixed with sweet.
My mind floods with those who
Filled my heart—
Stolen from me suddenly,
Precious souls.
They brighten the shadows
With splashes of golden sun.

Facing new futures
Discarding the past
Searching for brightness
Through darkened shadows
Hope is my crown
My pride and my joy
Love is my banner
I hold my head high

Close your eyes
And feel my touch
Open your heart
To feel my love
Extend your hands
To reach for mine
If there were no
Seas to separate
I would be there
To keep you warm

Loving you through shaded vision, seeing you through strands of hope, waiting for your love to warm me, blurs my world to black and white. Banishes all vibrant color, I am freezing in the cold. Before I know it, think it, say it, all my love’s returned to me.

I love the zing of lemon. In fact, just seeing this image has made my taste buds start zinging. Often I drink plain boiling water with lemon slices thrown in it.
One evening a long time ago, I was on a business trip in the UK. The client invited me for a pub dinner. It was bizarre in that I had a lemon squash to drink, lemon battered fish, and for desert I had a lemon tart. My dream lemon dinner haha 🙂
