Sometimes things happen for a reason
And we don’t always know how or why
Or even how it will end
Sometimes the world may seem against us
Or our family or friends
Or acquaintances
Sometimes we have no answer
And all we can do is trust
That behind every grey cloud
A bright sun is waiting to appear
I moved from the world
Into my heart
And felt the love
I needed to feel
An untapped source
Of wealth and joy
A warm inviting
Winter’s flame
And as I started
To thaw and feel
I knew I’d never
Want again
Strength for today, my tiny prayer
Strength for today is all I need
Strength for the hours that stare at me
Strength for the seconds that beckon me
Strength for the time I may see you
Strength for the breath of living air

As you would need

To shine your light

To speak your truth
Use my heart
To love like yours

To honour and serve
It’s my great blessing
To be used by thee

I enter the inner sanctity of my heart
At one with the life breathed into me
And I feel a quiet peace so still and gentle
I know I am safe and loved and guided
Protected by my creator, my lord

I loved with a pain that sliced with ice-sharpened knives
I loved with a love that haunted at night
That invaded my dreams and nightmares
Those eyes that penetrated my soul
That brought me to smiles and tears
Left me on whisper-white clouds
And pits of darkened coal
I loved with my very essence

And more than that
I love
If all we can do is love
Then let us love!
We are spirit
