FOMOphobia

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Play Lexicographer.”

FOMOphobia –
Inherent fear of missing
Out on anything

Is this a new word?

Thinking

Thinking

Have been striving to
Think of a new word but none
Comes to mind at all

Live Mudcrab

image

It is so much fun
Going to the store
And finding crates
Of mudcrabs alive
And kicking or at
Least moving around
Waiting to be bought
And steamed and
Presented on a
Plate to eat
Shell and all

Not!

Free Association

image

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Free Association.”

Rain drops merging with
Golden sandy soil, I call
Australia home

Heart of You

I love the way
You look at me
I love the way
You make me feel
I love the blue
Of your eyes as
They melt into the
Heart of me
And I love the very
Heart of you

Advance Australia Fair

Australian National Anthem

Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We’ve golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature’s gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history’s page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We’ll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who’ve come across the seas
We’ve boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine
To Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.

Australia, we thank you

Awake my beating heart reflects
My choice to live

Once Upon A Time

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Once Upon a Time.”

Once upon a time
In a land far away
Prince Charming swept me off my feet
And away from unwedded bliss
Thirteen years later with
Two minions and a new life
In a new country –
We celebrated not killing each other
And lived happily ever after

The end

Fake Charm

Attractive young woman ( Acting ) as someone in pain or sad.

Take a look at me
At my eyes and my face
And you will see
That I am a shell
Of the person I used to be
From when you entered my life
Uninvited and unannounced
And left again, a whirlwind
Of destruction, leaving your
Fake charm and smile
Fluttering in my heart
Like autumn leaves
Blowing in the wind
