Mother of two
And wife of one
Loved while she lived
And we loved her
There is no hope in this world so dark
Guard the treasure in our hearts
For we pass through and then are gone
Create our testimony with the words we speak
And live for a country unseen
I have no hope in what I see
My hope is for eternity
I believe in light beyond the night
How do you sleep at night
When you take another life?
What do you dream about
When you cause another pain?
What do you think about
When you take the life of a mother’s son?
Do you feel, do you think, do you dream?
Do you read bedtime stories to your children
After you have raped
When you have shot and killed-
Do you go home and make love to your wife?
Body found in burning car
Locked in trunk
And set alight
Farmers butchered
Tortured, raped
Executions, heads cut off
And then I wonder
In this world so dark
Where is the light?
The following article relates to an incident in the vicinity of my high school

When your life has no meaning
And your breath has no weight
When your soul is invisible
To those who hold the gun
When you are born to a world
Where love is overshadowed with
All the hate that can exist
Where there is no mercy
In the evil hearts of men
Then say your prayers and know that
You are destined to die
Thoughts with Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran who are scheduled to be transferred to their execution island tomorrow
I feel ill
I said goodbye to a friend of mine
So I could walk into my future alone and free
And I knew the goodbye would be forever
That never would I hear the voice of that soul
Again, but in my dreams a voice sounds out
To me, and when I awake, the voice so clear
Is of an old friend of mine, a friend I chose to
Forever farewell
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Circle of Five.”
If I had to choose
Five to be my company
My choices would be
My son for his great
Empathy, daughter for her
Passion, my husband
For his kindness, my
Mother-in-law and lastly
I would choose myself
An amazing Poetry Duet, enjoy!
