a wounded piece of me refuses to
heed to my encouragement and be
healed, like a pupping chasing a ball,
so my wound returns again and again
returns to pain, returns to be felt
to hurt, to prolong my suffering
and so I allow it to be
knowing that a wound over time
will eventually
harden into
a scar
Hope you heal soon, Vonita. Do not mourn the scars too much, just accept them. They will stay with you for a lifetime. All the bes, Marcus.

Don’t know if this is inspired by your life at the moment…but if it is, I hope you heal soon and heal well. But if it isn’t, I am amazed at how deep this is and how in very few words, you manage to convey such deep sorrow…and the last two lines…those are just magic! SO powerful…
“…knowing that a wound over time will eventually harden into a scar.”

Yes, I think we all wear our battle scars of life’s heartbreaks. Really nicely worded.
