My dad loves to give gifts. He bought me a gold ring when I turned eleven, and had my name engraved on it. Also a gold cross necklace after my mother passed away. (Unfortunately both stolen because South Africa).
On Sunday mornings he would play his music, and cook breakfast. His favorite was Rod Stewart. We always had his music playing in the house. At one point I think he must have had the worlds largest ‘record’ selection. He loves dogs, and has two, Chico and Coco.
My hand and four of my fingers are the exact same size as his. If I hold my hand against his the only one that is different is the middle finger, he has a longer middle finger.
He is always very happy to hear from me when we speak. And hearing his voice is comforting to me.

So glad you still have your father and have such a loving relationship!

Thanks Erika, unfortunately he lives in Johannesburg so we do not see each other very often 💝

I guessed he is not that close by miles but for sure the closest by heart!

Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately he is far away. He is in Johannesburg, and I am in Sydney. So we do not see each other very often.

Oh, sorry I am not sure whether I read this too fast or what,?! I did read you lost your mother early in life, so very sincerely sorry to hear this, dear.
I like how your Dad bought you special things, like jewelry. This showed his love, as well as the things you did together. ❤
My Dad did purchase items for us, while out of town. I remember simple jewelry for me. He chose gifts for my brothers, too. I am sure he gave my Mom gifts of jewelry, but remember this more when they were retired, Vonita.

That’s lovely to hear, did you keep the jewelry Robin? I wish I still had mine. But they were stolen in burglaries. I went back a few weeks ago, so this photo is fairly recent.

I do know that feeling. My Dad has now passed away. Thankfully I had the chance (by chance) to be with him one more time and hold hands… I’m very grateful for that.

And wish him a very beautiful Father’s Day on my behalf too 🙂
