Why do bad things happen? So bad that it is beyond conprehension. This past week I read of the poor woman who was trapped in an elevator. No one rescued her. No one cared. The situation she was in is beyond imagination.
And on Monday a sixteen year old went jogging with her mom and sister. Tokai Forest, Cape Town. We picnicked there as children. She decided to run ahead, and ended up dead. Raped and straggled and murdered.
Where is the light? Why do these things happen? I don’t understand.

Dear Vonita, I even don’t understand too… Why people change and being like that… Criminal events are the most news we hear more than good and beautiful things… We all need to hear a good and beautiful things, news… we need this… so much. Makes me sad all these events. What can I say more I don’t know. Life is not easy… but it should be easy according to the old days… Modern world brings also its own problems too. You are thoughtful and sensitve one like me, hits us… Blessing and Happiness, Love, nia

It does affect me Nia, just thinking of that poor woman stuck in the elevator and no one to rescue her. Guess it just makes one be thankful for our blessings xx

It is horrible and sad! As long as there are hateful, careless, selfish people such things will happen. The question is more, why are they careless, hateful, selfish…. it might sound odd, but even more we need to be the opposite and bring more into this world of what we want to find in it. That is the only way of not raising more hateful, careless and selfish people and perhaps the ones who are already that way change.

Yes, true Erika, we need to be the change we see in the world. I just feel so much sorrow for what these people had to endure, and there was no happy ending for them!

I feel the same, Vonita. It breaks my heart hearing such things.

That which we focus on will grow. I am not suggesting a callous stance to unfortunate and terrible.events, but as we see how the media plays with the emotions of the general public, it seems that there is an effort to keep people in a state of trying to protect themselves from the ravages of society. And ultimately in a state of fear. We must come to a point of moving away from those responses and begin to gather that which has meaning. Exactly as you have been promallgating on these pages Vonita. I know that there may be a lot of misconception around this word, but the truth is that love in its True selfless form is a key for each one of us. Thank you for your continuing questioning of the foundation of society and your realizations of how that is many times in juxtaposition with the Foundation of this beautiful planet that we are privileged to stand on at this time.

Thank you for this thoughtful reply. Much to think on. I just can’t imagine that people have had to endure some of these experiences and not even have any form of happy ending.

Much compassion and empathy for the misfortune of these ones, that there may be some opening of resolve that brings peace to their hearts and a safe place to be on the Earth. Thank you for your sensitivity to these matters Vonita. Beautiful thoughts.

Unfortunately there are no real answers to this question. We need to have compassion but more we need to live well even if it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Somewhere it does.

Lawlessness is now all over the world. Is it because people now are more concerned with the materiality of things? Or is it because of media showcasing brutality and crimes like we are in the wild wild west?
