The following items were found at our local public school. There is a room set up as a mini-museum, and BFF was too embarrassed to stand next to me while I took random photos of all these old items. But who could resist? I knew I would find a home for them! (Can’t take me anywhere it seems).

Old-fashioned tape recorder and radio (it is not mine, but we did have a family one back in the day!)

Telephone

Typewriter

?

OMG…. sure I remember those!!!

Hehe, I thought it might be fun to post! I took it on an old military ship if I recall correctly! 🙂

Ha …. on a military ship! Cool. I remember taking my device to school at times and listening to tapes. We had classes we were allowed to listen to them.

I went back and checked my album, it was actually at the local high school, they have a room that has been converted into a mini-museum. Also had old typewriters, really old one, should have added those as well! And a grey telephone like this ☎️ I might update my post, why not! 🙂

I also learnt to type on an old fashioned typewriter! That was during 1989, sounds so long ago now! Glad you enjoyed the photos Erika, trip down memory lane 🙂

Yes, that sounds so long ago, but for us it is like the twinkle of an eye. Technology progressed so quickly from 1980 on.

Had to smile at seeing that first telephone, it was great giving it a spin and waiting for the thing to come back. The last phone….. what century was that one from? 1902…

I think the last photo is of a dictograph, whatever that is, it must be before the telephone era, lol, before my time at any rate! I’m scared at how familiar the tape recorder / radio seems though!

I sure remember the radio tape recorder. I even still have stored bunch of music tapes in my the basement and still have a radio caset player( although more modern than that one) where I stil can hear tapes of music from when I was 14 and 15. Good old days, I still can´t manage with the iphone music and all this new technology.

I may have some tapes packed away somewhere, but nothing to play them on! 🙂

I´m sure in some souvenir type of shop, or second hand or whatever you guys have there in the U.S, there´s some old play recorder

Oh I’m sure there would be! I’m in Sydney, Australia by the way, and South African by birth. Never set foot on U.S soil as yet! (But planning to next year) 🙂

Love these and the idea of the mini museum. Had a tape recorder in my room when I was younger. I’d listen to radio disney and record the songs I’d like.

Great memories, especially the first one, I recall having a tape deck and player and being the envy of the others.
Cheers.

How times change! And technology too. I used to tape all my favorite songs on my tape deck (to play on my red Walkman lol). All the best xx
