Love Bite (a.k.a The Morning After)

image

I trusted in the Sun
In its promises of warmth and light and hope
I submitted to its charm
Trusting in it evil ways
Sun wrapped me up
In rays of love
Seducing me with its power
My flesh craved for more
For more of Sun’s kisses
Over me
But when it had left its mark
And done its deed
Sun bid farewell
With a love-bite
Etched across my skin
And scars for me to heal

  1. Bittersweet for sure, and it did leave you with an ‘indelible mark’ to remember it by! πŸ˜ˆπŸ˜†Perhaps its the Sun’s own way of defining ‘Afterglow’?! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜„

You crack me up good Vonita! Am sure it’s not that bad and it’d pass! So breathe already! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜„

      2. Bwahahahaha! You really are a delightful piece of work Vonita! Downhill?! Hmf! Yet, its whispered in some quarters that life infact starts at forty and I find it really cool that you’re ‘forty-fied’! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Quit putting me on Vonita, I don’t see downhill! I refuse to see it! πŸ˜œπŸ˜ˆπŸ˜†

  2. Hi Vonita! I just saw from another comment that that’s your name…..so pretty! And yes, the sun’s rays can reach us even through rain and cloud. As you found out. I think many of us get to learn that one from first-hand experience at some point in our life. πŸ™‚ I particularly like how you took something as ouchy and possibly frustrating as a sunburn and turned it into a love poem (for the sun). πŸ™‚
