A knock at the door
That’s quite a surprise
Visitors are often quite few and far between
I open the door, quite cautiously
Stranger looking for the library
Well, that’s quite quaint I must admit
A library was a place I often used to frequent
From when I was eight till about eighteen
My favourite place apart from being at home
Would be to be lost in the Library
But times have changed and so have we
And poor Library is being replaced so rapidly
With iPads and iPhones and iBooks and iEverything
And iDirections too in case one needs to be
In a hurry at the Library
But I had to empathise
On the spot and with love in my heart
If Stranger needs to be in the Library
Then the chances that there would be
Some technology to help find the way
Would probably be very remote and quite slim
And so I didn’t feel comfortable
In being very mean, poor soul
I offered Stranger a cup of tea
And then led Stranger to the Library

It’s sad that technology is replacing so many things, with the library being less important nowadays.

I know! I still prefer actual books to eBooks! And will always, forever! Not that it matters, for I haven’t read a book in quite a while, eBook or otherwise, shameless me!

Me too! Holding an actual book and flipping the pages is more enjoyable than reading from a screen. The content may be the same, but the feeling is different. Anyway, life always keeps you busy but I hope you would be able to find the time to read a book soon haha.

I just wrote a book! Only book I’m going to be reading for a while is Passion through Poetry! Because I Love! We’re not doing Like! And because we don’t like iEverythings, we have paperback and my baby HardCover, one up for me please!

Apologies for the shameless plug on my book, but excitement is running high! I’ve just completed the author bio and back cover blurb (what would anyone even say?) No worries, it’s done! Past midnight here, good night!

Thanks! The other day I was traveling home with a work colleague of mine on the bus and he was reading a library book and I though that is so quaint! How times have changed!

The fact is that I spend 50% of my school hours reading books or studying in the library. This is quite saddening, but I hope they can find a way to incorporate technology for modernization of existing libraries.

Me, myself and Iphone, Ibook, Iapp…. gimme a dusty, dim, gloriously book-lined library any day! (I’ll reply to your email tomorrow, my friend, when I get back to my routine 😉 )

You’re welcome! I’ve spent many hours of my childhood in our local library, I don’t think children these days have that appreciation! Thank you for the reading and commenting! 🙂
