A Stormy Calm

I honored the quiet spaces within my heart

By allowing a gentle peace to cover all my cares

The storm raged on outside, within

And through it all

I was calm

Black Umbrella

Tear drops and rain
Run down my face
Leaving me in the
Freezing cold, dark
Umbrella offering
The only shelter
From the storm raging
Outside and within

Shelter from the Rain

Bad news happened
No words to comfort
No songs of joy to sing
Only a storm that began
To fall its raindrop tears –
I pray for shelter from all pain
But if I am caught unsheltered in the rain
Please, dear Lord, shelter me under your wing

Beauteous

Wild dark storm
Raging with all its might
Beauteous in its power –
If only we could see

Thunderbolt and Lightning!

It’s not a Joburg summer storm, but I’ll take one in Sydney, yay, thunder and lightning!!

And just to set the mood!

Cotton Clouds

Balls of cottonwool
Tumble across playground sky –
Heralding the storm

Crying Rain

Lights offer the faintest
Flickering of hope while
Solitary umbrella offers
Shelter from the constant
Trickle of rain and tears

Invisible Line

There is a crack in the roof
An invisible line that cannot be seen
And no-one would know, nor perhaps
No-one would care
But when it starts to rain
And the rain turns to a storm
The crack in the roof
Makes itself known

Storm

storm

I wanted to love you
And hold you, and
Cherish you
But the blue was
Lost behind the clouds
Lightning replaced the sun
Now all I want
Is shelter from the storm
