I’m feeling sad.
Mixture of homesickness and
Missing my family that was, and
Is no more.
Not knowing what the future
Holds in store.
And when I close my eyes and am still –
I feel sad.

Beyond my confusion, doubt and fear
I know there is a higher power watching over me
I am not left alone, for in the stillness of my heart
My heavenly Saviour ever does draw near

Sometimes
Days were so dark that
Even the glow of a candle
Could not shed a flicker of light
But eventually
The darkness passed
And a summer sunflower
