When your path is dimmed
And no light ahead
Look up, my friend, look up
When hope has fled
And love is dead
Look up, my friend, look up
When overwhelmed—
Need a stepping stone
Look up, my friend, look up
When friends have gone
And you are alone
Look up, my friend, look up
Lift your eyes to see your truth
Allow the way to clear
For it is only by taking steps
Will you overcome your fear
As I awake and
As I breathe I feel
My beating heart
I am alive, I am
Aware, to see a
Brand new day
So let me live and
Let me be, allow my
Words to be my
Symphony
My voice—it does belong to me
The thoughts that wander through my mind
The feelings felt upon my heart,
My mind, my soul
Are unique in how they appear to be
Just as my fingerprints are
Uniquely mine
So are those words I type—
My voice is part of me
72 hours
Is all you get
72 hours
To say goodbye
72 hours
To pray your prayers
72 hours
Of breathing air
72 hours
Is all you get
72 hours
Until shot dead
Thoughts are with Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran and their families, whose fate hangs in the hands of those in power. They did the crime, turned their lives around, and now must face the fine ❤
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Fight or Flight.”
My flight arrived
I could see a glimpse
But could not leave to go
My heart started pounding
My belly started twisting
My nerves could take no more
I closed my eyes and made a wish
And wished myself very
Far away from there

As you might have guessed already, roses are my favorite flower. There is nothing as perfect as a rose in full bloom. And as quickly it blooms, as quickly it fades. So catch it while you can!
If my husband had not named my daughter Julia while I was still on the operating table, she would have been named Rose. I settled for Julia Rose.
Passionate red rose
In all its glory unfurled
Perfect creation
Pales shades of soft pink
Hinting of translucent tones
Of rose perfection
Creamy white petals
Placed in perfect harmony
Forms delicate rose

A golden key
To wish me
All the love
And success
An enchanted
Key can bring
From my teacher of 1984 ❤
Taken with my iPhone 5
Wish at night
Wishing bright
What do your stories tell?
When children make a wish
What stories do their wishes tell?
I love to just sit
And be next to you
I love to feel your
Presence beside me
You are my friend
And I will be yours
Your friendship
Is my company
I wish I could write
I wish I could create
But I’m all out of words
There is no poetry
Left in me
