My Very First Poem!
When all around is dark
And all you know is night
Feel the hope within
And move towards the light
When sadness overwhelms
And you have lost your sight
A few gentle steps
Moving towards the light
When wounds begin to heal
We sense that near delight
Stirs our waking heart
Embracing inner light
When happiness is found
And all is calm and bright
Ever keep on reaching
Onwards towards the light

I wish I knew
I wish I could tell
Or explain
Or understand
Why I do the things I do
Why I drive without a belt
Or sail a wretched sea
I wonder how
I wonder why
There is an empty space
Inside of me
Where is the love?
Where is content
Where is the peace
I hunger for
I do not know
I cannot say
There is no reveal
On why I drive
Without a belt
I know the danger
I know the price
I count the cost
And yet I still
Remain unmoved
Unchanged
Unchained
A rudderless ship
In a stormy sea
All I know
Is all I have
That I am me
Now and
Possibly
For eternity
When the world becomes too much
And my shoulders feel too sore
I find a quiet spot snd sit alone
Until strength is found to carry on some more

When night is passed
And I can follow dreams
Facing the enemy
I fear my foe
Feeling my weakness
I pray for help
Forgetting myself
I yield my all
One step forward
To victory I go
One step forward
To heaven, to home
Scorched earth
Air heavy with
Fumes of thick smog
Heat rises from the
Dusty plainlands
Another day passed
Maybe tomorrow?
Once green shrubs
Thirst for the drops
To quench the drooping
Leaves, all of nature is
Quiet, still, wilting, tired
Waiting for the rain

Against the boundaries
Imposed upon the nature
Of nature’s free will
It was only a decade
And two years ago
When you came into my life
And though I know
I will have to let you go
Your eyes will always
Hold their place
Inside of me
Happy birthday
First born son
Of mine
From the depth of valleys deep
A vision rises into view
Of peace and hope that’s mine to keep
My whole heart and soul and more
Accepts the vision of thy grace
I will forever thee adore
I will listen to thy whispers
To what thou hast to say
Thy leading and thy guiding –
Forsake me not I pray
My heart will be thy crown
I will ne’er thy love betray
Thy footsteps I will follow
Until my dying day
For I love You, oh Lord
