Lacking Confidence
Sometimes
I wish I could be less of me
And more of others that I see
If only I could stop and be
The only me that makes
Me unique
One Source
What story do you have
Do you have to share?
What do you feel?
What do you need?
If you could speak
So I could understand
If I could speak
So you could understand
What would you say?
What would I say?
Whilst we share
The same air that you
Breathe in
The same source that you
Breathe out
That I breathe in
Again.
Being Vulnerable
When I am alone and lost
And don’t know where to rest
When my moods are low
And I’m failing every test
Your love takes hold
You reach for me
I take your hand
We are meant to be

Song in the Wind
The wind caresses my skin
As the birds begin to sing
The sun bids farewell
As the moon takes its stand
My lungs are filled
With the song of spirit
And I feel one
With light and love
And nature
Dark Despair
In deep despair
I hold myself
In blackened day
I cry to you
You do not hear
You do not care
And silently
I bear my pain
Place of Safety
I turn to the sun
And see brightness and light
I look within
And feel courage and life
In the depths of despair
I hold out my arms
And am gently lifted
From the dark well surrounds
To the higher, brighter
Sun-drenched place
Of life, and light, and safety
Hardened Heart
Perhaps
If I hurt enough
The pain will go away
Perhaps
If I cry enough
The tears will start to dry
Perhaps
If I allow myself
I will crown myself with beauty
Perhaps
If I never see you again
The song in my heart will return
Or perhaps
My heart will harden
And your power over me will be gone
Only Yesterday
It was only yesterday
When you called my name
It was only yesterday
When you lured me into your game
My back is against the wall
I gave you my best, my all
It was yesterday
All those times we shared behind me
And now I look forward to tomorrow
With you only in my memory
