Pink Peony

Bright Pink Flower

Basket of flowers
Being delivered today
Rush past my being
With no small delay

My heart wells up
My soul is touched
To have but a petal
In palm of hand clutched

My yearning is felt
A small gift breaks free
Released from its hold
Pink peony for me

I lurch through the crowd
Stem falls to the floor
My heart sings out loud
To my Creator once more

A poem from my book Passion Through Poetry, blogged here in honour of:
Pow go the peonies

Enveloped

Wrapped tightly in
Envelopes of green
A new flower forms

Nature

Taken with my iPhone 5

Greens and blues and brown and black
Whites and greys and shades of bright
Nature’s force is on display
In trees and leaves and birds and bees
