A kaleidoscope
Unfolds above my eyes as
I kneel down to pray
Turbulence
The breaking of the water
The moving of the tide
Sways my heart to aching hell
I want you by my side
But you are nowhere
Abyss
Your scent lingers as
The memory of your
Touch teases me
Once there was a
You and me—
Us
Now there is only
An abyss
Flowing River
Take the world
But leave me stories
Never let the well run dry
Bless me with a flowing river
Until my words become alive

Selfish Prayer
I heard a soul
Pray for another
And I silently wished
That another
Could pray for me
Brewed
I steeped a cup of tea
I steeped it very light
And when I had a taste
It tasted, oh so, right!
Forgiveness
I was so mad
At you
I could not speak
Or type
Or write
So I fell asleep
When I awoke
My heart felt soft
And I was not mad
At you
