Burnt flesh
Is seared into my soul
Dripping flesh
Fills the canvas of my mind
Lest I forget
The lessons I needed to
Learn
Burnt flesh
Is seared into my soul
Dripping flesh
Fills the canvas of my mind
Lest I forget
The lessons I needed to
Learn
The threads of my heart
Have all come loose
As one by one
They slowly
Unravel
My life is worth the words I write
The stories floating in my mind
The prayers and hopes
And wishes too
My life is nothing without you
Butterflies fluttered
And birds sang
I was kept company
By an awakening world
I was alone in a field of green
The grass was fresh and covered with dew
As the morning sun kissed my naked skin –
The trees displayed their autum hue
I’m seeking a way forward
When all the doors seem closed
I’m trying to move forward
Though all the blinds are drawn
I look to the future
And all I see is dusk
After this nightmare
Please let me wake to dawn
Can sometimes lead to wide open worlds
Blindly
I fumbled in the dark
Groping for keys
To open the door
I stumbled
As the keys fell out my grasp
Lost forever, the door remained locked
While I knelt in despair –
In utter hopelessness
I wept
I’m falling into a bottomless pit
Where ravenous wolves await
The sky colors the world blue
But all I see is black
