Melt like a candle burning
Under the heat of a flame
A waiting game
Until it solidifies back into

I catch a glimpse

I feel a pull
Towards the writer
Like a magnet to a
Refrigerator
I am refreshed
And I want to
I crave
To write
Democracy
She stands tall
She stands free
She stands for life
And liberty
She watches over you
She watches over me
She watches over
Freedom’s democracy
It is Time
When we have stood still
For so long that our feet ache
Our eyes have seen all that they can see
The sun has burnt our very skin
We know then
That
It is time
An Abundant Store
I was cut off
Disconnected
Sliced in pieces
Blocked
Ignored
I don’t care
I have no need
For those who
Cannot keep their word
So I look forward
Upward
Skyward
For the world to provide
From its abundant store
Walking Away
There was so much to be said
There was so much I wanted to say
My throat constricted
I choked and stuttered
My face betrayed
My inner pain
I couldn’t do it
I had to go
I turned my back
And walked away
Strength In Unity
In this world of pain and sorrow
In this world of bittersweet
Let us shine a light together
Let us hold a gentle flame
To unite and make us stronger
To find strength in unity
We are one, we share the earth
We are connected while we breathe
