Rewriting History

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly writing challenge: “Hindsight is 20-20.”

(I)
If I could rewrite
History, would perhaps do
All the same again

(II)
I would learn wisdom
But alas, lessons are best
Learnt by mistaking

(III)
If I could rewrite
Anything, it would be your
Timeless love for me

Hello

Hello again
It’s been awhile
You’ve been too long
The silence has been eating away
And now you’re back
To say hello
Hello

Old, But New

Moving Towards The Light

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Be the Change.”

I would like my blog to make a change
To encourage, touch or resonate
In this dark world where all is lost
Where somewhere there may be hope in need

For I have learnt and am learning still
The power of words and how much they have
Words create worlds, and I hope to touch
To somehow build and not destroy

For I have been so low, not knowing what to do
How to escape this agony?
That walks around with me each day
Steals the smile from my heart and face

Dark times so dark no light is seen
In midst of nights, and in sunlight
I wrote The Light, and formed a blog
To help me move towards the light

“When all around is dark
And all you know is night
Feel the hope within
And move towards the light”

Adorned, offering fossils for
Future years to come

Holiday Find

In a tiny village store
Tucked away in a room at the back
Shelves and shelves of poetry
Sonnets of Shakespeare
William Blake and John Keats
Rupert Brooke and Thoughts of Nanushka
Shelves overlooked by passers by
Stirs my heart and wakes my soul
I want to read myself some poetry

Politician

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “New Skin.”

If I could choose
To be anyone, anywhere
I would choose
To be a politician
With charisma, charm and grace
Diplomacy, tact and fortitude
So I could round up the leaders
To lead and direct
The global change required
To heal the planet we live on
So there will still be
A world we can rejoice in

*the more I read
the more I see
the more my heart bleeds
for this planet we live on
soon there will be no return*

Happy Tears

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Happy Happy Joy Joy.”

I cry often am not scared
Of the emotional ride
Travelled on every day
Not often are there happy tears

But when hearing sweet angel
Sing my own words back to me
A river of joy, river of love
Flowed uninvited, unrestrained

I embrace those joyful tears
Accept any flows of pain
For tears of life remind again
Of life and that we live
