How I ache to see the sun
To live my life without a fear
So rain drops keep on falling
Allow the clouds to cry
Their one last tear

How I ache to see the sun
To live my life without a fear
So rain drops keep on falling
Allow the clouds to cry
Their one last tear
In response to Daily Prompt: Drop
Bad news happened
No words to comfort
No songs of joy to sing
Only a storm that began
To fall its raindrop tears –
I pray for shelter from all pain
But if I am caught unsheltered in the rain
Please, dear Lord, shelter me under your wing

Wild dark storm
Raging with all its might
Beauteous in its power –
If only we could see

Memories in my mind
Question their being
Beg me to share
The brief moment
They were
Briefly and fleeting
Created with care
And lasted but
A few blinks only
Of the eternal prayer

We started a game
It is not yet done
The pieces stand still
Nowhere to run
Awaiting your move
What will you do next?
I gather my strength
Deny your request
Take one step away
The game incomplete
Surrender my queen
Admit my defeat

Please don’t hurt me, I cried
I don’t want to be hurt
It’s not my style, you replied

Turbulence
Takes the calm
Shakes up what used to be
Like a whirlwind whirling
It’s way through the
World
And produces a new
Way of being:
What was is no more
And what is was never before

Sketching you
In black and white
Drawing you
With darkened stroke
Preserving every
Memory
Until one day
One day you may
Return to me
I will wait forever
Forever for you
To add your color –
Breathe your life into
My black and white

I see you in my dreams
I hear you in my mind
I feel you in my heart
I remember the very night
You flew from the land
And from my life
I am married now
I have a beautiful boy
And a daughter who looks like you
You are a grandmother now
Your legacy to the world
Your purpose lives on
I live your lessons every day
In my heart and in my life
And all I have is one tiny message
From my heart to yours
After all this time and what has been
Your baby girl is okay
