Viva Viva Viva
A new day has dawned
The morning sun filtering
Delicately into the room
Bringing its version of light
Beckoning me
To awake and to arise
To emerge myself in the day
That would lie ahead
I hear the chirping of birds
Cars driving by
Melodies of creation far and near
Different sounds of nature’s songs
Filling my heart with
A joyful gladness of being alive
On this new day
A precious gift to humankind
And to creation that would us surround
To have a world that we may enjoy
Graciously thought out in its being
Wondrous marvel
My life could be taken today
What would be my parting words
What would I like my testimony to be?
That I was alive and I lived and felt
Gave thanks and loved
Refusing to hide
Light switch turned on overhead –
Focal point of life
Giant golden leaf
Dwarfing any that may be
Drawn to its presence
Feeling so gorgeous
Waking up to a crisp, bright morning
The phone call happens
Yes, sir!
Collect me in your speeding car
We can fly through the day
Have ourselves a blast
Until the night arrives
And if you’re good to me
I might be good to you too
Scars etched across the
Trunk of a tree, leaving their
Mark for all to see
At times when I am in a rush
I find myself in a bakery
Just around the corner
From where my home would be
I grab a coffee to help me out
And if luck be on my side
Behind glass counter gloriously
There’s a pie to feed the family
Well, I am ashamed I must admit
For any pie – when I was but a child –
Would have been prepared so lovingly
By grandma who rolled the dough with care
The scent of pie
Would fill the air
We would wait quite anxiously
For mere taste of pie smelling savory
Times have changed
And time’s decreased
So to take me back
To my inner youth
There is nothing like
A pie from the bakery
With mashed potato on the top
Baked in oven until golden brown
So nowadays
When I am short of time
The scent of pie from the bakery
Fills my kitchen, and comforts me!

Complimenting each other
At times one will listen
Other times another will speak
Being together
Being alone
Sharing
Loving
Talking
Listening
Laughing
Friends and family too, both precious gifts
That can neither be bought
Nor forced
I love each soul that would count
As being a friend of mine
Cherish the uniqueness of being
Most are unlike me
Which is not hard to be
I would give thanks
More than analyse
Every blessed friend to me
Across the water –
Opera House tells the tale
